We enter and leave the building through the Red doors; before and after school, also at recess and lunch times. If your child is having breakfast before school, they will enter through the Blue doors. We will be using the first bell this year: Lined up and ready for the day at 8:55  Dismiss at 3:55

Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather.

I use a pencil challenge where each student will have five sharpened pencils every Monday. The pencil boxes will be turned in on Fridays so I can check them. If students have all five pencils on Fridays, they will receive a small prize/treat. If students use mechanical pencils or pencils brought in from home, they will not participate in this challenge.

We will have snack time in the morning. Please send in a nutritious snack for your child.

I believe that learning can be fun and I try to incorporate fun activities throughout the week. There are times when we need to be focused on our learning and work quietly.

The only homework would be our Math HomeLink and this will only be sent home upon the completion of a lesson. Homework will not neccessarily be sent home every night and never on Fridays or half days. Some students prefer to complete this during class time.

Our Read Aloud books may include the following:  The One and Only Ivan, The One and Only Bob, The One and Only Ruby by: Katherine Applegate; Frindle by: Andrew Clements, The Lemonade War by Jacqueine Davies; The Chocolate Touch by: Patrick Skene Catling; The Tale of Despereaux by: Kate Dicamilllo, Ungifted by: Gordon Korman; Restart by: Gordon Korman. We also read many picture books throughout the year which corresponds with our learning.

Movies that we may watch are:  The One and Only Ivan, The Tale of Despereaux, Charlie Brown Movies, The Magic School House, Smallfoot, Charlotte's Web,The Lorax, and many Holiday movies.

You may contact me at any time during the day from 8:30 am to 4:15 pm. I will return your call/respond to your message as soon as I am able. I may not be able to answer phone calls/respond to emails during our learning time.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and having a great school year.
